Welcome to the Stomping Ground Family
Summer 2024
Hiya!
I’m so grateful you’re here, we are going to have so much fun together this summer. My favorite parts of camp are what I like to call kind chaos. When we all run together during a night game to get the final piece of treasure, or the barn is filled with sounds of carpet ball, DnD games, and Nana in the Makerspace, or the sun is setting in the village and a group of friends is sharing stories. All of these moments make up the magic of camp, they show me that we’re committed to leaning into all things messy and learning how to create something beautiful out of it. We’re building a community where we lead with empathy and curiosity, and I’m so thankful you chose to be part of it.
My heart is full thinking about the magic we’re going to create together this summer. Can’t wait to see you there!
Love,
Maddy

Medical Forms
For campers to be at camp, New York State mandates that we have an up-to-date, within the last 2 years, physical form* from a doctor. For our medical team to be allowed to administer medicine, we need this form as well as immunization records to be completed, and for all medicine to come to camp in its original containers.
There are 4 forms to complete and upload (above).
*If your doctor has a different physical form or you have one for school or sports those work as well. But we still need permission to administer medication, even over the counter medicine.

The 3 Agreements
Respect yourself and others
Protect the future of camp
Work through conflict when it arises
Please watch this video with your child. Everything we do at camp is focused on first getting consent. To do that we want to make sure, as best we can, that campers want to be at Stomping Ground and understand our three agreements to be a member of our community. They are: respect yourself and others, protect the future of camp, and work through conflict when it arises. You can see more about our restorative justice conflict resolution process here.
Camp is often explained to potential campers and staff as a place where ‘you don’t really get in trouble.’ While that sounds like chaos, it really more accurately describes the type of world we want to live in. We aim to combat the punitive systems often held out as ‘justice’ and instead restore relationships among one another. We hold each other accountable through structured and honest dialogue both before and when conflict arises. This means that kids who have often found themselves kicked out of other spaces find a home here in their second chances.
